Andrew Laver
Mr. Laver is currently the Principal & Founder of APL Capital Advisors (www.APLcapital.com). Prior to founding APL Capital, Andrew gained investment and transactional experience in the venture capital and private equity industries. Andrew also has an operations and technical background having worked as an engineering project manager at the Abbott Laboratories Hospital Products Division and as a research assistant at the University of Utah. He holds Series 7 & 63 securities licenses. Andrew has a MBA (with distinction) from New York University, and a MS in Bioengineering from the University of Utah. He also holds bachelor’s degrees (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering and Asian Studies from the University of Utah.
Larry Rigby
Mr. Rigby is currently the Vice-Chairman & Founder of Zars Pharma (www.Zars.com). He was the CEO of ZARS from its inception until January 2006. Previously he founded three successful biomedical companies. He was founder and CEO of CardioPulmonics, which went public in 1992 and later merged with Innerdyne and then again with Tyco. His second venture was Alton Dean Medical where he was Chairman, CEO and founder. Mallinckrodt Medical acquired Alton Dean in 1995. Mr. Rigby was also the President of MicroJect, a company he founded in 1993. MicroJect was acquired in 1998 by Sorenson Development. Mr. Rigby started his medical career with Sorenson Research Company where he helped lead the company from $1 million to $60 million in revenues over a period of six years.
Ted Stanley, MD
Dr. Stanley is currently the Chairman & Founder of Zars Pharma (www.Zars.com) and a Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah. Dr. Stanley graduated from Columbia College and then Columbia University Medical School before completing a residency in anesthesiology at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Stanley was director of research at the University of Utah for over 20 years and is internationally known for his developmental work on opioids, other intravenous anesthetics and novel drug delivery techniques. In 1985, he co-founded Anesta, a drug delivery company with two FDA-approved products: fentanyl Oralet and Actiq.
